Entrepreneurship Story
Everything we see around us was created in one way or another. It begins with a vision and faith. Everybody can think of an idea but only the resolute see it through to the end. Entrepreneurship is a word used to describe drive and instinct. The most memorable experience I have involving entrepreneurship happened when I was about 9 years old. My mother created her own company. I want to add a little background because my mother has a very interesting story. She was born in Lima, Peru and had zero dollars to her name. Through dedication and hope she got herself to Miami and had me at 19 years old. My mother did not have the opportunity to attend college. Throughout her life my mother has had many jobs but finally she gained enough skills to open a business doing what she did best…sales. Today, my mother is one of the most sought after brokers in South Florida with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Shanghai. She is an inspiration to not only her daughter but to everyone who has had the goo fortune to know her.
I decided to take ENT 3003 because I aspire to one day take care of the amazing woman I get to call mom. I want to understand how creativity and innovation can help me reach those goals. I think this class will help teach me how to channel creativity and diversification in a beneficial way. Ideas are powerful and I want to understand how something new can become something great.
Hi Monica,
ReplyDeleteWow! What an inspirational story! I also come from a home where my mom worked really hard and made her own way, before ever meeting my dad. She now has her own private practice an as optometrist in Naples. It's definitely easier to have greater aspiration for yourself if you were raise in an environment with somebody who knows the value of hard work and dedication.
Monica, I can really relate to the story of your mother. My parents, too, were immigrants from China who came to America for a better life. When my dad left China, he went to Nicaragua and began working in restaurants. After he came to America, he had me, my brother, and my sister and had always owned his own business. I am really inspired by my father who never made it past middle school and was still able to have a successful business and provide for his family.
