Free Money

Introduction 

Currently I am on an Alaskan cruise. We are in the middle of Glacier Bay enjoying beautiful glaciers and wildlife. I intend to complete this assignment on this cruise and incorporate the protection of these beautiful structures. My plan is to head to the atrium which is the most populated area of the cruise and give away dollar bills there. I will begin by asking someone if they want a dollar. When they respond by most likely asking why or showing confusion, I will then give my spiel. I intend to say that I am trying to represent the small sacrifice it would take to decrease your shower time or support local farms because doing little things like this everyday supports our environment and protects our glaciers.

I will try and target young adults and then older adults to see the differences in reaction between the two different generations. I believe the adults I talk to closer to my age will be much more receptive than the older adults. Most older adults do not believe in global warming or in the reduction of carbon emissions so it may be harder to get through to them but in the end I will be setting an example of how easy making a small sacrifice can be. Out of five attempts I think I will be able to give all of them away. Most people will take free money and I intend to see this as I complete the assignment.

Conclusion 

So first I was completely wrong about everyone taking the dollar outright. Out of my five tries only three people took the dollar when I offered it. In the recordings I posted you see an older woman resonate with all my environmental awareness acts and refused to accept the dollar due to her support. This also was not what I expected from our older population as stated in my introduction. This made me really happy because I really do believe in sustainability and love seeing the support. In my second video was a man that I did expect. He basically thought there was a catch when I offered him the dollar and did not resonate with my environmental tips. He walked away mid talk and put the dollar in the tip jar. I believe he thought I wanted him to do something specific with the dollar. Both of my video recordings show people walking somewhere and I had to stop and interrupt them.
